1 Samuel Chapter 3 is about Samuel getting called by the Lord. Samuel was lying down in the Temple of the Lord where the ark of God was. When he was asleep, the Lord called him, but when Samuel answered he thought Eli called him. So  Eli said, "I did not call you go back and lay down." So Samuel went back to lay down. The Lord called him two times and Samuel ran back to Eli two more times. Eli realized that the person that was calling Samuel was the Lord. Eli went to Samuel and told him that the Lord was calling him, so next time when he calls him, he told him to say "Speak Lord for your servant is listening." When Samuel went back to the Temple of the Lord and the Lord called him. Samuel answered by saying "Speak Lord for your servant is listening." The Lord accepted and said,"I am going to do something in Israel that I've sworn on the House of Eli because Eli's sons have turned evil." So Samuel had laid there until the next day. Eli called Samuel and asked what did the Lord say to him. He told him "The Lord had sworn on your house because your sons have turned  evil." Eli told Samuel that the Lord needs to do what is good in his eyes. Later, Samuel was established as a prophet of the Lord and the Lord revealed himself to Samuel.
