In John 19:28-42, 20:1-9, Jesus had died for our sins by being tortured by people who didn't believe he was the Son of God. This part of the chapter is about the Gospel which is the death, the burial, and the resurection of Jesus Christ. We know he lives because when he died, he left a gift for us. This gift was God's Holy spirit that lives within us because he said:
"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you."Corinthians 3:16
