In Exodus 20, God sent Moses to deliver the word to the people. He gave him instructions on what to do and what how to prepare for the Lord's arrival. The commandments are simple, do not steal, commit adultery, murder or worship idols but yet they are hard for us to follow. The word was given to them and it was as clear as could be.
2 John 5:3-4 reads This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome. This verse completely sums up the basics on following in his footsteps.
Simply follow his word for it is not at all burdensome.
